Our family farm

We’ve been farming on Maui for 24 years, and in 2009 we established Yellow Seed Farms.

We immediately began planting fruit trees and preparing beds for vegetables. When the Hawaiian rains are not falling, we water from our spring-fed steam which runs through the land. We feed our trees and gardens with organic composted chicken manure and with locally sourced, grass-fed, composted steer manure.

Each year we re-mineralize the soil with high quality, naturally sourced calcium, phosphorus & trace minerals ensuring the food we produce is nutrient dense. It has been our honor to live on the island of Maui & spend our time nurturing the A’ina (land).

We love plants and grow many of them!

As farmers we are always experimenting, trying new techniques, and looking for what else we can grown in our unique eco system. It’s been wonderful attending farmer’s markets and getting to know the community on Maui who loves and appreciates local grown produce.

Our list of seasonally producing tropical fruits and trees includes:

Dragon fruit, lychee, longan, rollenia, rambutan, durian, soursop, papaya, white pineapples and avocados.  We also grow ginger, tumeric, kalo, kombucha squash, diakon radishes, tatsoi, kale, carrots, leeks, arugula, cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, habaneros, green onions, basil, dill, mint, and more!

In addition to selling produce locally, we keep a nursery of various plants. If you’re interested please inquire about what we currently have in stock.
